Smile — it can’t be that difficult!

We all are born with a superpower i.e., Smile, but as we age, we smile less often.

A study shows that children smile approximately 400 times a day, but an adult is able to manage just 40–50 per day.

The cheerful facial expressions you may call it to smirk, beam, smile, or grin, can do wonders for our health and work like sorcery. When a person smiles it generates positivity and reduces stress. But being so busy with our schedules many of us don’t even leverage the power of a smile.

“Smile more. Smiling can make you and others happy.” — Roy T. Bennett

Smile is the most recognizable and contagious expression. This simple act can change the world. It is the universal expression of kindness regardless of which culture or country one belongs to, that indeed gives hope to humanity. Your smile can be the reason for someone else’s happiness and positivity.

Physiological studies show that a chemical message known as Endorphin is released in the human mind when a person smile. Then that chemical or happy feel travels through the spine to the rest of the body. This chemical helps the body to reduce emotional or physical pain, reduces anxiety, blood pressure, lowers your heart rate, and leads to longevity. It boosts our body resistance and improves the immune system.

In another study — “Facial Feedback” by Charles Darwin defines that facial muscles can be used to define a person’s mood and feelings because the human mind assesses the force of sentiments dependent on those facial muscles which an individual uses to smile. He was the first person who suggested that our expression can affect our feelings. So, smiling can trick your brain and heart into believing that you are happy and can increase the actual feeling of happiness. Hence, fake it till you make it XD.

“Start every day off with a smile and get it over with.” — W.C. Fields

Your smile is valuable. Be proactive and take care of it! There are so many good things that a Smile can bring to your life so make it your every day’s priority. It is not only that how people perceive you but also about your well-being. Each one of us deserves a little more happier and a little less stressful life so share your flawless smile with others, it will bring up the happiness and positivity around you.

P.S. — It takes 50 muscles to frown however only 15 to smile? This means it’s easier to be cheerful than grumpy! so next time whenever you feel down, just turn that frown upside down. :)
